Product Specialist 


As a Product Specialist with Nexeo Plastics, you will be responsible for approving and negotiating prices for the Plastics line of business.  This entails effectively managing LIST price, Off List Prices, Manual Prices and approval for Credits and Debits.  Responsibility also includes product management activities such as target pipeline tracking, forecasting and inventory management collaboration with Network Planning.  


In this role, You will maximize overall segment profitability with an in-depth review of product cost, price supports, freight charges and customer price. Product cost analysis includes accuracy of special contract pricing and optimization of buy strategy and supply plans. The Product Specialist will propose changes to buy strategy, price supports or sell price to maximize margins and will also be responsible for identifying trends and working with peer departments to resolve issues at the source. Continuous communication with employees and management in each department is required.  In addition, you will provide analysis of gross margin to identify trends and areas improvement. This includes running ad-hoc BW reports to analyze buy strategies, sales and margin trends, customer and product segment growth, quantities purchased by vendor and SAP pricing comparisons.   



  • Bachelor of Business Administration or related field. 

  • Strong negotiation skills. 

  • Must have strong financial business acumen and analytical skills. 

  • Communication skills both verbal and written.   

  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel and Outlook.  

  • Experience in Business Warehouse and SAP is desirable.   

  • Must have the ability to manage time, organize and set priorities to meet deadlines.
