Basic Purpose:

At Nexeo, we’re proud to offer services that meet the needs and wants of our suppliers.  To help us offer world-class service to our suppliers and serve a diverse customer base we are searching for a Product Specialist to support our Color House product line.

In the Product Specialist position you will partner with Product Managers and cross-functional teams in gathering and analyzing product segment strategies.  Ideal candidate will be able to analyze and effectively support the review and proposal of current product segment research, inventory, pricing, and marketing to help create long-term supplier relationships.

Description of Primary Responsibilities

• Support in the maintenance of list prices and approval of price exceptions with sales organization.
  • Managing LIST prices, OFF List prices, Manual Prices.
  • Reviewing and confirming approval for credits and debits.
• Track targeted pipeline results for product segment development and growth.
• Complete detailed product cost analysis for special contract pricing and optimization of buy strategy and supply plans.
• Work with Account Managers utilizing CRM, analysis, and marketing plans to identify customer needs for existing and new product offerings, monitoring of competitive market, and understanding of market trends.
• Proposal to product line managers on buy strategy changes, price support, or sell price to maximize margins.
• Support Product Managers and marketing on campaign management, providing technical communication and insight.
• Support in the portfolio planning of a specific supplier strategy, ensuring differentiated and profitable products are delivered.
• Collaborate with management and network planning to formulate a product offering and inventory strategy to support target end use market growth plans.
• Increase value differentiation with customers through analysis and development of new product initiatives.
• Continue to grow relationship and networks by attending industry events such as tradeshows and conferences.
• Utilize technology and internal resources to align business processes, create efficiencies, and execute on supplier and Nexeo growth strategies.

Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience & Skills)

• Technical or Business bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of plastics or distribution experience in sourcing, sales, marketing, and/or technical service a plus.
• Familiar with product management concepts, practices, and procedures to make sound judgement in meeting targeted Nexeo goals a plus.
• Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, CRM/ERP systems, and Salesforce preferred.
• Ability to establish strong working relationships internal and external through the influence of others.
• Thorough in creating and communicating plans, concepts, and issues to peers, leaders, and key stakeholders.
• Understanding of the “sales mindset” a plus.  
• Strong presentation and planning skills.
