Primary Responsibilities:

  • European responsible in growing sales with OEMs & molders, aligned with salespeople, key account managers, suppliers, and Nexeo application development team.
  • Develop new value propositions in key strategic market segments as well as support and assess new areas of potential growth in EMEA.
  • Promote and position materials at customers and prospects, included training and project acquisition.
  • Maintain existing and establish new customer relationships with emphasis on key accounts & OEM’s.
  • Translate technology/growth opportunities to new geographies/customers.
  • Drive specific applications for push products from the existing and new products portfolios.
  • Gather market competitive intelligence including new technologies, market trends, IP opportunities, etc.
  • Provide strategic input for future product developments. 

Primary Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree, MBA is a plus.
  • Engineering Thermoplastics market knowledge required & knowledge in the Automotive or E&E market is a plus.
  • Proven, relevant qualifications in the following areas: self-motivating, enthusiastic, pro-active and time management.
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in the position desired.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills and demonstrated business acumen.
  • The ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) effectively across functional groups and across varying levels of the organization.
  • Must have the ability to organize and set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to clearly define and implement strategy.
  • Ability to negotiate and build effective relationships.
  • Must have excellent understanding of target markets and have the ability to develop relationships with decision makers.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience utilizing Salesforce.com is a plus.
  • Fluent in English & German (written and spoken).

As a Business Development Manager, within Nexeo Plastics, LLC, you will be responsible for realizing sales for NEW suppliers in EMEA. You will lead and coordinate the tactical plans in the different geographies in order to achieve the sales and profitability goals established. At the same time, you will directly manage a customer base of large accounts where you will be positioning materials, developing relationships with engineers and specifying products of our NEW suppliers’ portfolio. This role will work closely with the Application Development Team and with Sales Management to determine the value equation for customers within the defined market. This will require leading the communication and education process across the organization through development of trainings, literature or any other required tool. The Business Development Manager will work closely with Product Management in managing NEW suppliers’ relationships and aligning partners’ strategies with Nexeo objectives. This will also require coordinating with Product Management and planning the correct Inventory policy as well as the proper product portfolio offering.
