The Materials Planning Analyst will be responsible for inventory analysis, reporting and management to meet service level and inventory goals, support of the Materials Planner role through KPI analysis and training, investigation and resolution of discrepancies related, but not limited to pricing, delivery, packaging, material availability and forecasting. Position includes data analysis, data entry, written and verbal communications and special projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Materials Planning Supervisor by providing oversight, guidance and mentoring to Materials Planning team
  • Optimization of system settings through the use of exception reporting and feedback loop from Materials Planning team
  • Ensures an optimized materials supply plan for North America based on business demand and the capacity of the supply chain.
    • Stock availability
    • Inventory
    • Supply associated costs (Logistics, Material)
  • Supports the execution/implementation of:
    • Inventory Strategies and Policies defined together with the Network Planning and Inventory Analytics teams
    • A balanced demand supply horizon by Discussing/Aligning
      • Demand with S&OP
      • Supply with Product Management and suppliers
  • Monitors and addresses slow moving and obsolete inventory to proactively avoid related costs/losses
  • Acts as the initial point of escalation for issue resolution
  • Shares the responsibility of continuous improvement by providing insights, ideas and feedback
  • Scheduled and ad hoc reporting and analysis

 

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or above in Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain
  • 3-4 years of Materials Planning/Procurement/Purchasing experience
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain
  • Proficiency with SAP a plus
  • Proficiency with the MS Office package, specifically Excel
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, problem-solve and multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep accurate records
