Basic Purpose

The Manager, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), serves as the primary liaison between Sales, Commercial Leadership, and the Supply Chain organization. This role leads an integrated S&OP and demand planning process that converts market intelligence and commercial insights into an accurate forward‑looking demand signal to guide business decision‑making.


Position Responsibilities

  • Drive organizational value by translating market trends, customer insights, and commercial strategy into robust demand forecasts.
  • Lead monthly Sales & Operations Planning cycles for each sales region, ensuring alignment with Product Line Management, Sales, and Supply Chain.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional S&OP meetings focused on consolidated demand outlooks, forecast changes, commercial activity, and forward‑looking performance metrics.
  • Oversee the forecasting and demand planning function, including statistical forecasting models, demand analytics, and forecast performance measurement.
  • Ensure alignment and data accuracy across SAP ECC/S4 and SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP), especially IBP Demand and related planning modules.
  • Drive forecasting KPIs including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and adherence to planning processes.
  • Partner with Finance to support revenue forecasting, budget cycles, and long‑range demand outlooks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop demand planning and analytical staff supporting forecasting, planning systems, and S&OP processes.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Product Line Management on product lifecycle forecasting, new product introductions, and market‑driven demand assumptions.
  • Advance S&OP maturity through improved demand signal quality, enhanced cross‑functional communication, and stronger forecasting discipline.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Travel as needed (minimal)

Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience & Skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain, sales, or product line management.
  • Experience in the Plastics industry (sales planning, forecasting, product management, or market analysis).
  • Deep understanding of demand planning, forecasting methods, and S&OP principles.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to convert data into insights and recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting to cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build alignment across diverse business groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint; Power BI preferred).
  • Experience with SAP required; SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP – Demand Management module) strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with predictive modeling, statistical forecasting, or demand‑planning tools preferred.
  • Understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, market dynamics, and commercial drivers.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to develop and manage direct reports.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD) is a plus.
