Position Summary:

As a Sales Account Manager for the Nexeo Plastics, you will be managing sales with existing customers and targeting new prospects for the plastics distribution business, specifically focusing on the ETPs and Specialties and as well on the Commodity Products portfolio. In addition, you will develop and manage a territory budget that provides a growth plan consistent with strategic goals, being sales and performance driven, with dedication to achieve team goals that will be critical to succeed in our overall business environment.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • To manage the assigned territory in order to reach sales, customer acquisition, penetration targets, and other internal goals. To plan weekly sales itinerary to realize overall sales strategy.
  • To service existing accounts. Responsible for the coordination of sales and the delivery of products meeting customer needs. This involves extensive interaction with the customer, Sales Management, CSRs, Product Line Management, ADEs and Credit. To solve any problems that occurs before, during, or after the sale.
  • Identifies leads for new accounts. Takes responsibility and accountability proactively searching for and developing new customers. Working with the Sales Management team to develop sales strategies and its implementation.
  • Monitors competitive environment. These include pricing, payment terms, shipment terms and types of materials handled by competitors. Communicates competitive situations to CM and other relevant parties.
  • Fulfills ‘responsible care’ sales activities safely which include personal and vehicular safety and product stewardship.
  • Develops and maintains professional presence in the territory. This includes expanding product knowledge through training materials or supplier seminars, enhancing sales management skills through training, and attendance and participation in local professional organization.
  • Develops relationships with company’s Product Line Managers (PLM), providing a clear feedback of the market dynamic, working closely with them and the Commercial Manager.
  • Gathers information and maintains accurate records. This includes information regarding customer sales by volume and types of material, prospective customers and their material needs, customer call reports and competitors in the territory. Fully utilizes SFDC.


Primary Requirements:

  • Preferred, Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Marketing, Economics or related field.
  •  Knowledge of the Plastics industry and/or Plastics distribution.  
  • Fluent Spanish and English skills. Other languages are valued.
  • Ability to negotiate and build effective relationships.
  • Proven, relevant experience in the following areas:  self-motivator, enthusiastic, time management skills and responsive.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills along with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are required. 
  • Experience with Salesforce.com is a plus.
